You know, after you’ve been working really hard on your writing (and maybe especially when you feel like you didn’t really get to have a weekend, like everybody else), it’s kind of nice to just do some chores. Know what I’m saying?
Don’t get me wrong. I am not a chore-lover. I will tromp right over pile of laundry until it gets too big to kick aside or someone runs out of underwear or undershirts. But some days, like today, it’s nice to just turn the computer off for a awhile, clean up, create a little order, get the oil changed, and just generally do the dirty work.
I don’t know about you, but I never run out of things to do. In fact, I’d say one of the biggest challenges of being a mom, who works at home is learning how to not focus on messes all the time.
Then, at the other end of the spectrum, sometimes it’s nice to bring the messes back into focus and don the rubber gloves.
How do you balance work and housework?

I basically work until my house can not be avoided. Or until someone is coming over! With five sets of muddy footprints moving through the house at all times, I feel like the Sisyphus of house cleaning! Know what I mean?!
