Ellen Goodman on the Mommy Wars

In Writer Mama, I say that the supposed mommy wars are bunk.

And I do think they are baloney.

Here’s what Ellen Goodman says in her column in the Opinion section of the Sunday The Oregonian:

The much-touted mommy wars are as useful in solving our problems as a circular firing squad.

To remember why all of us moms are on the same team, read the entire article, “Mommy Dearest? Not when they’re at work.”

BTW, I am often asked about how to write opinion pieces. While we are waiting for Sue Lick’s book to come out on writing for newspapers this summer, I’d say Ellen Goodman is a good model for study.

Loaded with interesting statistics, compelling argument, and clearly a very astute critic.

See what you think…
