In Writer Mama, I say that the supposed mommy wars are bunk.
And I do think they are baloney.
Here’s what Ellen Goodman says in her column in the Opinion section of the Sunday The Oregonian:
The much-touted mommy wars are as useful in solving our problems as a circular firing squad.
To remember why all of us moms are on the same team, read the entire article, “Mommy Dearest? Not when they’re at work.”
BTW, I am often asked about how to write opinion pieces. While we are waiting for Sue Lick’s book to come out on writing for newspapers this summer, I’d say Ellen Goodman is a good model for study.
