Thanks for inviting new folks to the giveaway every day! Makes sense to post this once in awhile since the key info gets buried as we go along. I’ll post today’s winner this afternoon. Good luck!
What is the Writer Mama Back-to-School Daily Giveaway?
The WMBTSDG is a celebration of writer mamas! We work hard all year long, juggling writing and kids and life and we deserve a celebration we can call our own. And what better time than back to school, when many of us (though not all) are breathing a collective sigh of relief…before the pre-holiday scramble sets in.
To learn all you need to know about the giveaway, visit the list of giveaways, read “Da Rules,” and please spread the word to fellow writer moms and writer communities and forums!
Who is hosting the Writer Mama Back-to-School Daily Giveaway?
Christina Katz, author of Writer Mama, How to Raise a Writing Career Alongside Your Kids (WDB 2007) is your hostess with the most-est. That’s me, btw. No purchase is necessary whatsoever to participate in the contest, but while you’re here, you might want to buzz on over to Amazon and check out all ten of Writer Mama’s five star reviews.
Where do the giveaways take place?
The giveaways are posted every day during the month of September right here in this blog. They may not be at the top by the time you get here, so scroll down until you find the day’s giveaway post. Full descriptions of the giveaway(s) are provided each day, often with links to author bios and websites.
When and where can I comment to win?
You must comment to the day’s giveaway post. If you comment to the wrong post, you can’t win. Look for the “comment” link just under the title of the giveaway post. Click on it and you will see everyone’s comments and can add yours to the list. You don’t have to be an experienced blogger to win!
Why should I spread the word?
The WMBTSDG giveaway is rapidly becoming an exciting teaching - learning opportunity for everyone who participates. And that’s win-win-win, so go ahead and comment, share your comments in your blog and link back to the giveaway, if you like. The more moms who participate, the more diverse voices we’ll hear and the more we’ll all benefit. I hope you will carry the sparks of self-discovery from the giveaway back home to your blog. ![]()

I love the term practicing writer. I have long considered myself a writer, but until I had my kids and my time was theirs more than mine, I did not know what a practice was. As my kids nursed or napped or played I made my way to the page more regularly than I did when I did not have kids. I developed a practice of snatching at and recording my thoughts, which gave me loads to edit in my effort to get the words right.
Just checking in. I’ve missed most of the month but hope to start in today. I’m a writer mama but my children are all grown with children of their own. But, I’m still a writer and still a mama as well as a writer granny!
